The Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Program engages children age birth to three with significant developmental delays and their families in natural settings, such as home or a grandparent’s house, where the most benefit can be gained from services designed to promote typical development.
Today, more than ever before, we understand the first few years of a child’s life set the stage for development, academic achievement and overall future success.
As of 2015, 27 Community Centers served as ECI providers. On behalf of these Centers, Texas Council provides legislative advocacy, coordinates information sharing among Centers, and acts as a liaison with State agencies to support and promote a quality ECI system in Texas.
The Texas Council also participates in the ECI Advocacy Coalition, working with other non-profit organizations to coordinate advocacy efforts in support of ECI.
